The role
As a Groups Coordinator you will facilitate the setting up of new interest groups at Stevenage u3a. The group co-ordinator will liaise with group leaders, members and the committee.
This will be done by:
- Supporting and advising Group Leaders
- Encouraging and supporting Group Leaders to follow best practice in running their group safely

- Handover and support from the outgoing Groups Coordinator

Key Tasks:
Providing support and advice to Group Leaders
- Ensure all Group Leaders receive the Group Leader handbook or guidelines, available on u3a.org.uk website
- Gather input from members on potential new interest groups.
- Publicise new groups via Stevenage u3a website, weekly meetings etc.
- Maintain regular contact with groups and provide any support necessary
- Monitor and maintain essential records
- Maintain a list of local venues with cost details if possible
- Hold regular Group Leader meetings so that knowledge, and new ideas can be shared and discussed
- Share information from the committee, the region, and the u3a Office with Group Leaders
- Encourage and assist Group Conveners/Leaders to promote their group activities on the local u3a website.
